European Landowners Organization
The European Landowners Organization (ELO) is a unique federation of national associations from the EU28, which represents the interests of the landowners, land and forest managers, and rural entrepreneurs at the European political level. ELO’s statutory commitment is to defend and promote sustainable development, conservation and protection of the environment, renewable energies, and responsible use of natural resources. ELO engages politically on a number of policy areas affecting the rural world by means of publications, position papers, and events. The effectiveness of the organization relies on its ability to bring together rural actors, land managers, scientists, businesses, and decision-makers at local, regional, national and European levels. Its network of more than 64 organisations across Europe represents several million hectares of land and forest managers and enables it to express positions shared by a large number of stakeholders, as well as to analyse the local effects of the implementation of EU legislation.
Role in the project
In this project, ELO is involved in Work Package 4 (Implementation and sustainability of the network) and Work Package 7 (Communication and dissemination). ELO will utilize its extensive network of more than 64 organisations to ensure that the project is disseminated to key stakeholders, landowners, experts, farmers, land and forest managers, and rural entrepreneurs across Europe.
