Flanders Research Institute for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (ILVO)
The Flanders Research Institute for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (ILVO) works collaboratively at the national and international level to provide policy-supportive and knowledge-building research with an eye toward economically, ecologically and socially sustainable agriculture, fisheries and food production. ILVO's four research units are Animal Sciences, Social Sciences, Plant Sciences and Technology and Food Science. The Social Sciences Unit, mainly involved in this project, is the socio-economic pillar of ILVO, with a mission to offer scientifically-based clarification of societal choices around sustainable and competitive Flemish agriculture and fisheries. Currently, ILVO hosts several living labs, among which the living lab on agroecology and organic farming, bringing together multi stakeholders’ fundamental and applied knowledge in a participatory and co-creative setting.
Role in ALL-Ready
ILVO will assure a horizontal implementation of a multi-actor approach throughout the project, involving a stakeholder engagement protocol and providing guidance in implementing participatory approaches and facilitation of workshops. ILVO will contribute to the capacity building plan that provides tools, training and learning resources to stimulate the setting-up of living labs and knowledge exchange on agroecology across Europe.
